A breast implant is a prosthesis used to alter the size and shape of a woman’s breasts (known as breast augmentation, breast enlargement, mammoplasty enlargement, augmentation mammoplasty) for cosmetic reasons, to reconstruct the breast, or as an aspect of male-to-female sex reassignment surgery. Pectoral implants are a related device used in cosmetic and reconstructive procedures of the male chest wall.
A breast tissue expander is a temporary breast implant used during staged breast reconstruction procedures. According to the Indian Society of Plastic Surgeons, breast augmentation is the most commonly performed cosmetic surgical procedure in the India.
Types of Breast Surgery in India
Breast surgery can be used to modify the breasts in several ways : -
Breast lift surgery is cosmetic and may enhance a woman’s self-esteem, but the results will probably not match her ideal. The best candidates for the procedure are women with very small, sagging breasts who are realistic about what the surgery will accomplish. Breast lift surgery may be performed on women with larger breasts, but the effects may not last as long. Breast lift surgery may be performed on women of any age, but most plastic surgeons advise women to wait until after they have had children since additional pregnancies will usually stretch the skin again and reverse the effects of the procedure.
Breast Implant Revision
This surgery is done either under local anesthesia or short acting general anesthesia and the patient can go home the same day after the operation. Subsequent normal breast feeding can be done after breast augmentation and there are no problems with one’s personal life, which actually improves after breast enlargement surgery as the breasts play an important role.
